Happy New Year. So yeah it is the new year we are obviously recording this way back in 2022 but this is the third in a

kind of series of special episodes that we're doing a round out 2022 and launch us into the new year and so the last two episodes we kind of talked about some

Work that it was inspiring us and things that we were reading and listening to that maybe kind of will carry with us into the work on this show and our work in general.

And this episode is just going to be a smattering of questions and so forth

that we've gotten from listeners, questions I have for the two of you

and just the sort of ask us anything type thing and

we'll just get right into it and then I guess I should say next week we'll do a

few reruns give ourselves a little bit of a break we're taking a breath and then we've got a whole great slate and the

calendar for the years getting repopulated and there's all sorts of great stories coming up and so forth so

Let's get right into it with the Ask Kelly, Mickey, and Jody anything

conversation. I'm gonna start with actually a pretty meaty question that we got from a few people,

which is really interesting, but it was for the two of you, if you could study any other

time period or any other field other than the one that you do in history, what would it be?

Oh, this is a really good question.

I think that I would want to go back some but not all the way. I'm very much a

20th century historian but the 19th century holds so many not only so many juicy, amazing stories,

because this really is a century as Kelly knows well,

where so many of the core fundamental ideas

of the US experiment are underway, right?
