Hey, welcome back to the Excel Stillmore podcast.

Today, we're going to focus on communication, the ability to share with others, particularly

to share your wants and your needs from them or with them in a way that solicits the best possible response.

The topic of communication has been a big deal around here recently. We have several couples getting married this year, and so I've taken them

through some pre-marriage stuff, about eight lessons, but the first lesson every time is communication.

It doesn't matter what you want to talk about, just how to help each other or love

each other, or how to grow in faith, or live life, or make decisions, or whatever it is, if we don't

know how to convey information well, if we're not careful about things like verbal cues, volume,

and tone, and so forth, or nonverbal cues like body orientation and eye contact,

then we can say that we are sharing the information, or like today's content, we can say we've made

a reasonable request of another person, but their lack of positive response is completely on us. So we do want to talk

today about tips and strategies used when dealing with other people, but as I said, particularly

there are times in your life when you need something from someone else. Maybe it's your spouse,

maybe many times, maybe it's your kids or your parents or people you work with or worship
