So I assume you're all here to talk about the early work of Carl Jung and this man's

carnivorous diet and the Soviet art he collects.

No, in all seriousness, I'm really excited to be here with you.

We've never met before.

Your official title is that you are a clinical psychologist and a professor at the University

of Toronto.

You've written two books, one called NAPS Meaning and the best-selling 12 rules for life,

which is currently being translated into 40 languages.

But this description does not capture what you've become, which is a kind of phenomenon.

When I was reading 12 rules for life in a cafe in the locker room of my gym, it was sitting

out on a bench, people were coming up to me and saying, this book saved my life.

And yet there are other people in the country, including some of my fellow journalists, who

insist that you are actually a gateway drug to the far right.

So I'm excited to be here with you, not the miss of you, but with the man.

And I'm hoping we can use this hour or so to talk about your views on meaning, on gender,

on feminism, God, higher education, and I'm sure we can solve all of that in under an hour.
