Okay, hello and welcome to another week of my pleasure. I have been looking forward to recording

0:07.8

this all week. I'm not kidding you. And I'm so energized and ready to talk. So let's just dive right in.

0:15.6

This is kind of the first deep dive into a topic. And the topic is authenticity. So I've been getting a lot of really

0:26.8

great questions from you guys. And my favorite thing is when you guys ask something that is already

0:33.5

a subject that I am bursting at the seams wanting to talk about. So let's talk about

0:41.0

authenticity and basically like how to live your life more authentically. I definitely identify

0:50.2

as someone who is an expert in this field and not because I've done like a ton of research

0:57.1

or studying, but mostly because throughout the years I have realized that this is a skill that I have.

1:06.7

And once I realized that, I then started to look within and look, look within and without

1:14.3

and figure out exactly what it is I'm doing that helps me live authentically so that I can

1:22.2

connect with others on it. And I want to share with you guys this moment very, very early on in my career. I had

1:31.7

probably been living in L.A. Gosh, I want to say a year and a half, definitely less than two years.

1:41.1

And I had gotten my first big meeting with a manager and this was a really

1:50.3

big deal to me. It was, I don't even remember how I met the managers. I think maybe they came to a show

1:56.0

of mine and they had called me in for a meeting in their office and it was a Beverly Hills like

2:04.5

Wilshire Boulevard fancy high-rise office like something that today would make me gag with

2:12.9

just like an ill cringe I don't want to be a place like that. But 21, 22 year old Esther, fresh to

2:22.8

L.A. from the Midwest, I'm like, oh my God, a real building with a real office that I've been

2:29.0

invited into? Like, this is unheard of. Is there free coffee? Like, oh like oh my god and it was a newer management company

2:36.5

in fact like i kind of think an absolutely no disrespect to these people i kind of think they were

2:43.3

like two rich la kids who like were using an office space they had access to and were pretending to be managers. And I think

2:53.5

they still are managers. I think they're great. But that, you know, it wasn't exactly ideal.
