taking until about two days before I left on business travel,

but it was my first time flying Turkish Airlines, first time to Turkey or Istanbul as a whole, actually. So I'm actually happy to be on business travel for a change.

So it's Wednesday, October 23rd at just a little past 8 in the morning here in Chicago, just a little past 4 in the afternoon in Istanbul, and that means that Boeing machinists are currently voting to either accept or reject the latest proposed

contract offer from Boeing. Boeing raised the base pay rate for the

currently striking machinists to a 35% raise over the four-year life with a contract.

The union leadership felt that this latest offer, which was not the last, best, and final offer issued on the 25th of September, so almost a month ago.
