Today's format is so unusual I can't even make a joke about it. We'll be hearing excerpts from

five interviews broadcast during 2024 and conclude with some words from the organizer Jane

McAleavy, a friend and frequent behind-the-news guest who died in July 7th. Israel's war,

not only on Palestinians, but increasingly many

of its neighbors, was the big story this year, and three of the five interviews reflect that.

Rashid Khalidi and Pankaj Mishra bring a historical perspective to today's horrors, and

an al-Shiline adds a former insider's view. Then we'll hear from Aziz Rana on the awfulness

of the U.S. Constitution, from Anna

Cornblu with a cultural critique of immediacy, and then Brooke Harrington. We'll talk about the offshore

money-hiding racket. On to the interviews. Rashid Khalidi recently retired as a professor of history

at Columbia. His book, The Hundred Years War in Palestine, was published by Metropolitan Books

So applying the term settler colonial to Israel really annoys its supporters, but not only is it accurate,
