We're going to be talking about belief today.

If you study the Gospel of John, Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, you'll discover that the most

important word in the book of John is the word believe.

In fact, you can't really study the book of John unless you really understand how the word

believe operates.

Well, that's for another day.

We're in Acts, but we're going to discover today that the word believe becomes very, very

important.

Now last week we talked about Peter, going to the house of Cornelius,

the Centurion, and staying there. And Peter preaching to the Gentiles and being absolutely

flabbergasted by the fact that God had extended his grace to the Gentiles. Acts 1034, you may recall, we looked at this last week,

where it says, then Peter opened his mouth and said, of a truth, I perceive that God is no

respecter of persons. But in every nation, he that feareth him and worketh righteousness,

is accepted with him. In plain English, not Jackalbyan

English, the English of the King James, what Peter is saying there, in fact, if you look at the

Greek, what he says is, wow, it's just hit me. Lord is no respecter of persons. That's what

it really says if you study the Greek. There's

an exclamatory, declaratory part of speech at the beginning of the sentence. In verse 34,
