In this edition we're going to be bringing you the first installment

in a recent adventure we had up the UK's highest mountain, Ben Nevis.

The 17th of August, 1771, an Edinburgh botanist by the name of James Robertson made the first recorded ascent of the UK's highest mountain, Ben Nevis.

So effectively, we've just had the 250th anniversary of the first recorded ascent,

or rather, the first time somebody actually wrote down when they went up the mountain.

We're right at the foot of Ben Nevis

on the suspension bridge. It's really busy already. It's about half past eight in the morning.

And the visibility is astounding. You can see almost 100 yards up there. But it is lightning.

You can see it actually lifting. So who knows what's going to happen? Ben Nevis has been fascinating to people for all sorts of reasons.
