Grove Podcast. Today our friend Hannah Brincher connects with her friend, author and leader of

if gathering Jenny Allen. In this conversation Jenny shares with us how God

graciously led her into a very intentional season of rest.

But even in that physical rest, she unpacks the ways that she began to understand more about the deeper call God was offering her, which was to trust

and abide in him.

Our prayer from today's discussion is that we all began to seek God concerning the areas of our lives where we need to exercise rest.

Hi Jenny, thanks so much for being here on the Grove Podcast today. We're so excited to have you and I'm

personally so excited to dig into this conversation. We're going to be

touching on the areas of Rest and Sabbath and sabbatical and my prayer for this conversation is that

women who are listening would be able to experience freedom in knowing that there is

real restoration for them that comes from God and God's spirit.

And so I just want to dig right in and for anybody that is wondering where we are rooted in the text, we are in Psalm 23, if you want a biblical reference.

I'm just going to read it and we're going to go from there. So it says in

in Psalm 23 the verses were coming around are the Lord is my

shepherd I shall not want he makes me lie down in green pastures he

light leads me besides still waters. He restores my soul. And so Jenny in that vein, coming around this idea of rest and Sabbath, you made a decision to take a three month sabbatical last year and I believe

that was the first time you'd ever done it in your 10-year ministry correct?
