Summary

This episode showcases three terrific lever-action big game rifles. All are classic historic designs that were carried by frontiersmen; all are also still being produced!

These three are big-bore versions suitable for hunting anything from deer to grizzlies. We'll follow up soon with an episode on top-notch .30-30 models ideal for deer and hog hunting.

So now that we have our criteria established, let's take a look starting with the earliest of these historic shooting irons and that's going to be with

Winchester model 1886 a light rifle in 4590 now this one's in 4590 but

mostly they're chambered in 4570. I like the 4590

because you can shoot either in it. Just like you can shoot 38 specials in a 357 Magnum, you can shoot

4570 animal in a 4590. 3.57 Magnum, you can shoot 4,500
