I was reading some of the headlines that people were saying about Boomer's prediction of Pete Alonzo signing with the Mets on Friday.

We talked about the L that Evan Roberts put on the cardboard cutout of Boomer.

The headline in the posts that said, Boomer were still waiting, Alonzo prediction, an epic dud.

And I said, that's not fair.

That is not fair. There is a grace

period. That grace period is one week. If it happens at some point this week, then to me,

Boomer was right, and here we are. Last night, right before 10 p.m., Pete Alonzo and the New York

Mets agree on a deal, and I think when you look at this

both sides kind of got what they want so you had two sides that caved in this situation.

would have it happened last Friday. I don't know what happened. Why it didn't happen last Friday. I wish I'll get into the weeds with that with somebody that I spoke to. But I'm not sure, but I'm happy. As I met then, I'm happy. That's all I care about. I'm happy. I wanted to see him in the lineup this year with Juan Soto, Francisco Indoor. I wanted to run it back and we added a couple pieces to this team.

I don't know whether this team's good enough to get over the Dodger hump and they'll deal

with the Braves and the Phillies.

There'll be massive games.

Games will be sold out now.

Met fans should be really, really happy this morning.

And you're right.

The contract is such that, you know, I guess

it's a fair reflection as to who Pete is for us as met fans and who he was last year as a player.

So it's a meeting in the middle is what it is. And I think there were some tweaks that had to be

done maybe earlier this week. I'm not sure. But I never lost the feeling that he was not going to be a Met.

Like in other words, last Friday when I felt on Thursday night when I felt that and when I was told what I was told, I said he's going to be a Met no matter what.
