When Bianca Rudolf started packing to return home from a hunting trip in 2016, she was excited

to get back in time for her nephew's wedding.

But in a split second, everything changed and it took six years to unravel it all.

I'm Charlie and welcome to Crime Lines. As you're listening to this, I'm going to be just

getting back from the True Crime Podcast Festival and I know it will have been an

amazing time, it always is. Next year, just so everyone can think ahead they are planning to be

in the northeast. Last I heard as of this recording they were waiting to hear

back from a place outside of Boston. If that doesn't work out, they will expand to look in the

New Jersey Pennsylvania area as well, but they're very committed to the northeast,

because they know how much easier it is for so many more people to travel.

And I don't know that any podcast or crime convention on this scale has been in the Northeast, so they definitely want to bring this programming to all of you up there.

So I will be sure to keep you updated as soon as I know where it's going to be so that you can get in on those early bird tickets which are considerably

cheaper than full price. But let's go ahead and get into today's case. We are starting with Bianca and

Lawrence Rudolph. The two met while they were in school together at the University of Pittsburgh.

Bianca was an undergrad and Larry was in the Dentistry Program.

They married in 1982 after they graduated, and then they got to work building Larry's practice.

At first, Larry had a small traditional dental practice, and Bianca would help out with office work. But then he pivoted to sedation

dentistry pretty early on. Instead of having to go to get a cleaning and an exam, come back later for two fillings then come back for

one more than go somewhere else for a root canal he did everything in house and

because you were sedated Larry could do more procedures in one sitting and that was very popular for his patients particularly those who are very busy and those who are scared of the dentist being able to do it under sedation was

welcome and Larian his business partners ended up hiring more staff and

opening multiple locations in the Pittsburgh metro.
