It's a program of personal documentaries, radio movies that feel like a journey.

There's always been a yearning for the sense of solitude. From early on

Magnus has felt the pull of the ocean. We set out on a sailboat my friends and I from Stockholm on August 11, 1977 to sail around the world.

On the ocean you are the only thing within sight, with nothing but time and solitary serenity.

The books you can read and the horizon that you can look at in the incredible sky at at night and blue yonder beneath you just being part of the

Kostk, being part of the sun rising in the east and setting in the west and floating through space in the way.

And there was this one time in particular,

they'd been sailing for days without seeing any signs of civilization

when they came to an island.

Is that Jainovese or Darwin Island.

It's one of the smallest islands in the Galapagos group.

You felt that there's never been anybody there before you.

But you can't have total solitude very long.

As I row in with the dinghy, suddenly there is smoke on the island coming up.

This island is inhabited.

The thing about other people is, they're freaking everywhere.

And there were two guys and they were studying the pictures on the island.

They were both ornithologists from Ann Arbor, one of them and the other guy was from England.

Ffing ornithologists.
