I'm Phil Sim, I'm a reporter normally based at the Scottish Parliament, but yes, still in my flat.

And we are also joined today by Ransom F.A., who is a musician and is from Aberdeen, and has also

supported the likes of gigs, Skeptor and Creptin Conan on stage, which I'm very jealous about.

And we are also joined by Claire Heuchan, who is an author and a black feminist blogger and whose name I probably completely not said correctly.

Was that okay, Claire?

Yeah, that was good.

Good, because I just kind of steamed through and tried to say it of confidence.

Exactly.

And we are talking today about something I'm sure you've all read about, you've seen it,

you've probably been having conversations about it.

It is the death of George Floyd, a black man in America, died in police custody, and it's led to protest all over the world, including Edinburgh, London, Cardiff, Manchester. And because this

was a podcast and no one can see us, I thought probably the best way to start would be by saying

what our ethnicity is, which is not something that we usually do.

So I'm going to start. I am Asian, born in the UK, but of Indian Punjabi heritage. Phil,

do you want to go next? Yeah, I'm a white guy who grew up in rural Aberdeenshire, which is probably

one of the least diverse parts of a company, which isn't all that diverse, so I probably couldn't be much whiter.
