Carla arrived in Los Angeles in the late 80s,

just a few short years after she first sat behind a drum kit.

Soon, her remarkable raw talent caught the attention of legendary producer T-Bone Burnett,

and Carla became an in-demand session musician.

I see her right to me. and Carla became an in-demand session musician. An extraordinarily versatile artist, Carla has worked with everyone from PJ Harvey to Jack White.

But her soulfully bionic style reaches an apex within the context of Autolux, a trio she co-formed in 2001.

Aside from her duties as a drummer, Carla also contributes as a singer and songwriter.

The band released an excellent new album, Pussy's Dead, last year.
