Big Man, aka Dexter Turner, has lived in Nashville's biggest public housing project, the James A. Casey homes for nearly two decades. He and his wife are raising

two children there, and what he wants people to understand is what really goes on in Casey.

Five months after The Promise's original run, Big Man talked about how being on the show

has affected him and dropped some of his characteristic wisdom in an interview before a live

audience with WPLN's Maribonite.

Can you take us back to that day and can you just put us in your mindset? Because as a father and as a husband, I just can't imagine how difficult

it is to have this happen and then have your kids coming right back. So what was going through

your mind that afternoon? Well, but I'm going to tell them. Yeah. That's what my little girl,

she looks for me barbecue.

She loves me to barbecue.
