As many of you have probably seen, Hornity just launched its 7MPRC cartridge.

And this bonus episode is just a quick first look.

So let's dive right in.

What is it?

The 7 MM PRC is what I consider the middle sibling of the PRC family, the precision rifle

cartridge family. The cartridge itself is of

standard length, this is 30 out six length, so it'll fit in any typical Magnum

Magnum cartridge action. You can have your 7mm Remington Magnum, your 300 Winchester Magnum,

rebarled and chambered to the 7MPRC very easily should you desire to do so.

So on that note, what does it do?

What does the 7MPRC offer that should make it compelling, right?

First, it's designed to shoot Extreme BC 7-M-M bullets better than any other from the ground up. This cartridge was really

inspired by our modern trend to want to shoot farther, more accurately, and hit

harder, right?

This is an extraordinary cartridge for that.

If you hunt inside 400 yards, it's not going to offer you really anything that all the other

classic 7mm magnums offer. It's not better than them.

It's at extended distances that it really excels. The cartridge produces excellent muzzle velocity, even with short-ish barrels. In testing

by Hillcountry rifles and some other companies I'm familiar with.

It appears to lose only about 25 feet per second as you cut the barrel down per inch.

Right? That's pretty extraordinary it speaks to the efficiency of the cartridge itself.

Most magnums lose closer to 50 or 60 feet per second per inch as you cut the barrel down.
