Hey, this is a special bonus episode of In A Minute with Evan Love

and I appreciate you being here with me and taking the time to listen, but

reason I'm making this bonus episode, I was motivated by something that happened yesterday that brought up some old feelings and thoughts

on what was once in LA icon a beacon of information and thought in Los Angeles and I think it's pretty important.

I did an episode.

It was actually the 50th episode of this podcast called My Take on the L.A. Times

situation.

And this is an unscheduled follow-up to that episode because for me,

as you know if you've been listening, journalism is tremendously important.

It's the reason why I'm here and it's an important

vein of information that runs through all of us that's been finagled with and

manipulated throughout the years but it is very important, especially true journalism.

And the LA Times was once that guiding light in Los Angeles, and it's gone a different direction,

and look, it's gone a different direction and look it's in a downward

spiral but it continues to get worse even in the well barely one year that has

passed since I ran that episode my take on the LA Times situation

which by the way resulted in emails, dms, messages, text from people who work at the

LA Times telling me how spot on that was because again

anybody who's a fan of journalism or even who disparages journalism can see

that the LA Times is in again a death spiral but what happened yesterday was just inexcusable

explainable and cowardly the owner of the LA Times blocked the paper from endorsing a

candidate for president. Now listen I'm not here to advocate for a candidate.
