podcast, but this is a special episode. I have been looking forward to speaking to Jonah Platt

for some time. Jonah Platt is a podcast host, but he hasn't always been a podcast host.

He currently is a podcast host of the podcast being Jewish with Jonah Platt.

And you may recognize his name because he comes from a very famous family, the Platt family.

He comes from a family of actors and producers.

But as he describes it, he is half Jewish advocates. One side is

Jewish advocacy and one side is entertainment. He was on Broadway. Ten years ago, he played the role

of Fierro from Wicked. And he has been an actor and a theater guy since then. He's had his hands in writing and so many things,

but he also grew up with a lot of Jewish ties and he went to Jewish sleepaway camp. Reminds me

a lot of my own kids and their lives. But October 7th, 2023, almost 500 days ago, obviously if you are Jewish or even if you're

not, you know, your life just kind of got rocked by what went down.

And that's how I discovered Jonah.

He was a very, very strong, solid person on Instagram. And that's how he kind of

came into my perspective. He was being shared. People would share his content. I started following

him. And at a time when it felt very lonely and very scary to be Jewish, he was speaking a message of hope and positivity.

A lot of people were scared to be Jewish, right?

This is a time where people were saying, maybe we want to hide our Jewishness, right?

Maybe we want to hide our Stars of David, our Magandavids.

Maybe we want to take the Mazuzas off our door.

Maybe we want to not tell people in the streets that were Jewish.

And yet, Jonah decided, no, I want to start a podcast saying being Jewish. And since then,
