Frank Frazetta. He's an icon. He's a legend in the art world. He has an absolute rabid

cult following of people who love his art. But for you, he was just your grandpa. Tell us about

the Frank that you know and how that might be different than the

frank that the public knows.

Well, yeah, he was just grandpa.

Now it's all dawning on me of how many people he influenced.

And, you know, it's not just specific to art.

It's, I mean, it is art,

but movies, music, sports even, bodybuilders. I mean, his art transcended. But to me,

he was, he was grandpa and he was the best grandpa. And he was a, he had a more playful side than he showed in his intense art with his like, you know, visceral strength. He was a very present human being. He was one of the most present

beings I had ever met. And, you know, that's such a rare thing, especially now. People like to have a lot of chatter in their brain and can't really help it. And he was one of those humans that had undivided attention and loved sharing with me everything that influenced him. And I don't know if that was like a, just like a subconscious thing that, um, he wanted to, to do for me personally. What was that? What influenced him?

So his, his, his, his, his, his, his films, um, that he just watched over and over and

over again. We watched the original King Kong

1933, like, I don't know, over 300 times. Like, I'm not exaggerating it. I don't know if you

ever saw Night of the Hunter with Robert Mitchum, 1995, an amazing horror movie. He loved

the use of light, and he, you know, my, my grandpa and I would

talk through the whole movie. That was another thing I really loved about him. Those people,

if you talked through the whole movie, they're not going to want to watch a movie with you

again. But we would just go into it and he would like give me this analysis of like why it was so

good. Music, loved uh the composer

stravinsky and because of that he loved the movie fantasia disney's uh fantasia that came out in the

1930s which is a masterpiece i mean all hand drawn it was like you could just feel the emotion

...
