you to a whole other podcast from our colleagues across the newsroom. Back in summer 2016,

there was a police shooting that you might have heard about in the news. Police mistook a Latino autistic man's toy truck for a gun.

And in that confusion, they shot his black aide in the leg.

Police would later say they meant to shoot the autistic man,

who also has intellectual disabilities.

Well, the new podcast, After Effect, takes a deeper look at at that shooting at its effects and at who that autistic man actually was.

It goes deep into the world of disability services, of what it's really like to be a developmentally disabled person in America right now.
