Hello and welcome to a very special edition at the Sophie Ridge on Sunday podcast.

We're in Dewsbury, where I've just hosted a live debate between the three candidates who want to be

the next Labour leader, Rebecca Long Bailey, Kirstama and Lisa Nandy. We're going to be listening

to the best bits of that debate and giving some analysis.

Well, at the minute me and Matt Levander are sitting in a room, a back room in Dewsbury Town Hall. We've just come away from doing the debate, haven't we, Matt?

We have indeed. I mean, I think we should just do a health warning before we start.

We are aware that it's not Sunday. This is the Sophie Ridge on Sunday podcast, but it's not Sunday

and that's because we are here for this special event. Yeah, we're in quite a nice little green

room actually compared to what the candidates have had to put up with this evening. I actually

think this has been a pretty nice place for us to prep all day. Yeah, don't tell anyone, but we've definitely got the best dressing room. Yeah, it's quite nice here.

But it was, so what we hear for, if you didn't see it, it was a sort of special live debate

program on Sky News, which Sophie hosted. We had an audience of about 80 people, the three candidates

who want to be the next Labour leader, and they slugged it out over sort of a variety of different topics,

everything from anti-Semitism to Brexit to why Rebecca Long Bailey calls her son the king.
