Looking at the Hyundai Ionic 9, the brand new three-row SUV that was just revealed at the LA Auto Show.

As I woke up this morning, a flurry of articles in my feed, all pretty much released at 1am UK time,

which tells me an embargo was lifted, and that's the big car magazines around the

world able to talk about their driving impressions, because some of the big mags also got to

put a driver behind the wheel, which reminded me, I haven't made a special bonus podcast edition

yet all about this very important vehicle. So, let's write that wrong and get into the details.

The three row electric vehicle is the largest in Hyundai's range

and incredibly important to the three row market.

Hyundai is featuring the biggest battery they've made in this vehicle.

The Arnic 9 will genuinely offer over 300 miles of range.

That's 483 kilometers in all versions, and in North America will come natively with the

J-3400 connector on the side.

So you can use Tesla's supercharger network and the third-party networks that are now

putting J-3400 on the side.

This new flagship SUV builds on the concept we saw in 2021.

Then it was called the 7, S-E-V-E-N, but the name change, obviously, to the numerical 9,

plus giving some room for the Ionic 7 and the Ionic 8 when, if they ever arrive.

And you wouldn't want this vehicle to seem less than its sister car, the Kia, EV-9,

because in many ways it's actually better.
