James Aicaster here, comedian and music fan, and in 2017, I had a breakdown. I dealt with that

breakdown by buying as much music from 2016 as I possibly could. As a result, I now own over 700 albums from 2016,

and I'm convinced it's the greatest year for music of all time. Over on the main podcast,

James Acres' perfect sounds, I always send an album to a guest each week, and they come on the

podcast, and we talk about that album, and we see if they will agree with me that 2016

is the greatest year for music of all time. This is a bonus episode. In the bonus episodes

we get to dive deeper in certain subjects. Sometimes it's albums we cover on the podcast.

Sometimes it's something within the world of music in general. This week I really want to

look at the YouTube music community.

It's something that I massively got into during 2017 while I was looking for all the albums in 2016.

I suddenly started watching a lot more music content on YouTube. One of the channels that I subscribed to was the Needle Drop.

And Anthony Fantano, who runs that channel, was given his top 50,

and I discovered so many new gems from that video.

I knew I was in good hands.

I watched more of his videos, more of Anthony's reviews.

Sometimes he'll do think pieces over on his other channel, the Fantano channel.

At the time when he started out his channel, not many people doing that on YouTube. It wasn't a big thing.

And nowadays, in 2021, the needle drop has over 2.5 million subscribers.

The Fantano channel has over a million subscribers.

And I really wanted to talk to him and find out his
