I'm Mark Stephen.

In this edition, I'm up near Loch Inver in the north-west of Scotland where the community-owned

Ascent Foundation has created an art studio which was used earlier this year by something called

the Bothy Project for their neighbourhood residency scheme. Now, this involved nine participants

from a range of backgrounds, each spending a week here, or in Bothys on the Island of Egg, or

Inchria-Kiniravvy Moor. The aim was to take time for personal reflection, to give them

a bit of elbow room, to be creative, and to connect with other participants digitally, to share

ideas about their rural communities. I spoke first to the Bothy Project's Leslie Young.

And we'll also hear from two of the participants, Monica and Kat,

as well as getting an extract or two for the podcasts made about this project.

So first up, we took a look at the rather lovely Ascent Art Studio.

It's an entirely wooden building.
