I'm sharing an interview Mark Stephen recorded with mountaineering and climbing instructor Morag Skelton.

Morag works at Glenmore Lodge in the Kern Gorms, that's Scotland's National Outdoor Training Centre.

And as you'll hear, she has a remarkable story to tell.

So I'm Morak and I was born for family death.

But it was not until when I was six months old that my parents found out I was deaf.

So they decided to get me a cockay implant.

And so you require

operation so it's quite a stressful time for the pen

not knowing if it's going to make it any better or worse

but I'm really glad they made that decision

because it allows me to hear a lot of things

from like bursting and rivers,

noise and able to talk to people and most of it to be very

independent in everyday lifestyle. Even though it's challenging, I just want to crack on with living

their life and not have to worry about the barriers too much and stuff. But anyway, I've got a metal mat in

it inside my head and that's a lot of coch hair contact to my head and then the sound
