Ryan Day on Tuesday said that he would be in favor of like amending the targeting rule because Steel Chambers got ejected for targeting on the first play of the second half and now has to

miss the first half of the Nebraska game.

He essentially has to miss an entire game because he got targeted, objective for targeting on the first play of the second half against Penn State.

And Ryan Day said he would be in favor of something like takes the timing of things into account.

Like if Steel Chambers is being punished for an entire half, why punish them for the second game?

It's not going to happen, I don't think, but I wanted to run this by you and see if you

were a coach which of these two things you would take.

One of your players gets ejected for targeting.

You could either opt to have the rule be as it is now, or the team you're playing gets

a fresh set of downs, and then you have to play

the rest of that series down to defensive player. You have to play with 10 players, the rest of that

drive and then get your guy back after that. Which one would you take? It depends who it is,

right? If it's Nick Bosa, then give him the touchdown.
