His Royal Highness, Richard Apire, the 26th King of his Acholi clan in Northern Uganda has been a friend for over 20 years. We recently had the chance to catch up and reflect on what has been going on in Uganda, his hopes for the country, and the university Love Does is hoping to begin building. Restore University will not only transform the lives of a generation of students but it also sends a message to the entire region that a land once decimated by war will now be the birthplace of this country’s future leaders. 0:15.1	Recently we were in Uganda.
0:16.8	I've been going back and forth there for over 20 years.
0:20.4	At the time that we went first,
0:22.3	the Lord's Resistance Army you were probably where through
0:25.3	invisible children and other organizations that brought some attention to it of this
0:30.4	20-30- year civil war that involved the abduction of 40,000 young people and just so much
0:40.1	death and destruction in the area.
0:42.4	And I got a chance while I was in Uganda to catch up with an old friend.
0:46.0	His name is Richard O' Perry.
0:48.0	But what is kind of interestingly about Richard,
0:51.0	and you'll hear about it in the the podcast is he's the king of the
0:55.1	Acholi people now. Acholay land is in the north and that's where every violent
1:00.0	uprising in Uganda has started and then it sweeps to the south so he's the guy up in the north and so we just kind of get a little bit of time to reflect on what has been going on in Uganda his hopes for the country and our continued hopes there.
1:15.7	And particularly in light of a university that we're starting there.
