And the subject of our investigation

is the murder of Gary Ferris, a prominent attorney,

husband and father.

It's a murder mystery that has pitted members of Gary's own

family against each other. His wife melody has been accused of the murder and

three of her adult children seem to agree with the prosecution's theory that she shot

Gary and left his remains in a burn pit to get his money and continue an affair

she was having. But this mother's defense is taking aim at her own son, calling him a freeloader and a killer.

Here's the story.

Melody and Gary Ferris were married for 38 years.

They lived on a working farm in Alpharetta, Georgia that spanned approximately 10 acres.

The couple lived in the main house together,

while one of their four adult children lived in an apartment above the barn.

On July 5, 2018, deputies with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office were called to the property for a report of human remains found in a fire.

Detectives initially believed Gary could have suffered a medical issue and fallen into the fire,

but quickly began investigating this case as a homicide after a bullet was found lodged in one of Gary's rib bones.

The bullet, a 38 caliber that didn't match any weapon found during the searches of the property.

Further investigation led detectives to Melody, who was arrested and charged with his murder.

Now, Melody's trial is underway and her children have

taken the stand. Tonight, our experts will weigh in on the testimony and body

language to try and figure out if Melody fares' demeanor suggests she's guilty of murdering her husband
