Some strange, unusual things happening in Florida.

The Gore campaign is trying to lengthen out the timeline.

Florida Democratic officials will be requesting a hand count of ballots in Palm Beach County, as well as three other counties.

It was unsettling to me that a candidate would cherry pick four counties out of 67 to

recount. 50 teams will start to hand count more than 460,000 ballots. There's been a lot of

discussion about the hanging chat and the dimple chat. The fundamental framework was to slow walk

the county. Gore advisor accusing Florida's Republican Secretary of State of just trying to ensure a Bush

victory. I had no idea to whose benefit it would accrue. I just know I had had to follow the law.

Florida's highest state court has blocked the Secretary of State.

Bush wins one round, Gore wins the next. It is a legal slug fest that won't end soon.

In the weeks after election day, an overwhelming majority of Americans, between 77 and 87%,

said they were closely following the Florida recount.

But the Florida recount was not easy to follow.
