Hello I'm Tom Gilson and today we are excited to bring you a production by Discovery Institute about CS Lewis and intelligent design.

Lewis never used the term intelligent design as far as I know,

but his reflections on science, nature,

and the

nature are rich in implications for the intelligent design project.

What you're about to hear features a voice-over narrator

as well as commentary by Discovery Institute's John West and American

philosopher Victor Repert, author of C.S. Lewis's Dangerous Idea, and also British philosopher Angus Manouge, editor of the book CS Lewis,

Light Bearer in the Shadowlands. A few months after being discharged from the army at the end of World War I, a 20-year-old

C.S. Lewis published his first book, a cycle of poems titled, Spirits in Bondage.

The opening poem, Satan speaks,

provided a grim portrait of nature

that might startle many of Lewis's later readers.
