So we're in the space station.

If I want to go from here to there in the space station, I can't walk. I have to give myself like a little push.

And even the example I love to give is that if I took one of my hair it's from my head and I

used it to kind of push off of a handrail. If I pushed real fast that hair would break, but if I pushed slowly, that is enough to push myself across the whole space station.

So it is truly the life of Peter Pan.

Just this fact that it's so different than down here,

I think just underlines the fact that you few people are at the very edge of where people are.

You're representing everybody and you're sort of the group that is

getting to know how far have we gone.

And I don't know, I just, I felt like a pioneer.

That's Katie Coleman.

She's one of the few women who have flown multiple times in space.

Her first two trips in 1995 in space. Her first two trips in 1995 and 1999 were on the space shuttle.

On her third mission in late 2010 she spent 159 days as the only woman member of the six-person crew

on the International Space Station.

She's now retired as an astronaut

and she's just shared her experiences in space in a wonderful book called Sharing Space,

an astronaut's guide to mission, wonder, and making change.
