And we're standing outside in the city of Aberdeen and the rain is falling.

Which is strange because this week there's been some absolutely beautiful weather and more importantly signs of spring.

Yes, and I've really got the urge to get out into the garden and start digging and growing things and so on.

I started weeding the garden yesterday, not to say that it was over chew, but it's a machete I need more than anything else.

But I saw something the other day I've never seen before in my life, and I saw it by accident,

I came round the corner of one of our buildings, and there were two robins sitting on the fence.

It don't often see two together, do you?

No, but this was a male and a female.

And the male was trying to woo the female. This is the bit I'd never seen before.

Pushing its head right up, twisting its neck round in a very sort of sinuous way.

And I watched it for a while, and then it caught sight of me at the corner of its eye and went, you know, and it was as if for all the world that Robin looked as me as if I was intruding on something private.
