and my guest today is a TV legend. She's an actress who shot to fame 27 years ago

playing a Harvard Law School graduate who goes to work in a Boston law firm

on David E. Kelly's groundbreaking Fox comedy series, Ali McBeale, described by the New York Times as a landmark show, which ran from 1997 to 2002, and for which she garnered three Emmy nominations, won a Golden Globe,

and was part of an ensemble that won a best comedy series cast SAG Award.

She went on to Star in other notable shows including Brothers and Sisters

which ran on ABC from 2006 through 2011. Supergirl, which ran on CBS and later

the CW from 2015 through 2018 and most recently the

2024 FX limited series feud Kapote versus the Swans on which she played Lee Radswell, the New York

socialite who was the sister of Jackie Kennedy, and for a time a close friend of

Truman Capote, a performance for which this actress is once again in the Emmy's conversation.

Greg Berlante, an EP of brothers and sisters, once said of her, quote,

she always reminds me of a golden age star.

She just has that Roslyn Russell, Kate Hepburn kind of feel

where she's strong and sexy and smart and bubbly, close quote.
