When 23-year-old Duncan MacPherson left his hometown of Saskatoon, Canada, for a new job

in Scotland in August, 1989, his parents weren't worried. From a young age,

Duncan had always shown incredible bravery and independence. He was just three years old when he

first insisted on taking the bus to a doctor's appointment all by himself. The bus driver had refused to pick him up on account of his
