It was somewhat still going to meet with somebody that hadn't been heard from in 25 years.

I'm sure I had all the same questions that the nurse or anybody that had been following her story would have had.

I can tell you that she was aware of the situation. She understood the nature of the problem that we had to deal with.

And she was absolutely willing to work with me, thankful for my help and has been nothing but cooperative and gracious.

Everybody is innocent and less proven guilty, so my hope in this case is that with time and evidence that the truth will set Teresa free.

Two months ago, we brought you the story of free missing people from Czechoshe, Oklahoma.

Teresa Kennedy, Bethany Tiner, and Rachel Lewis. Exactly one month later on April 29, 2022.

Teresa Kennedy was taken into custody. All three missing people were found alive and safe.

Having lived a life for the past 25 years, that was a complete mystery to those who had been looking for them.

In a moment's notice, not only their lives, but those of so many others returned upside down, possibly forever.

Amarissa and from Wondery, this week we're going to revisit two episodes we aired in March about the disappearances of Teresa Kennedy, Bethany Tiner, and Rachel Lewis.

Recalling this episode 347, case continued, hiding in plain sight.

We originally aired this story in two parts on March 28 and 29, 2022.

At the end of April, we received news that all three missing people had been found alive and safe.

Typically, when we do an update, we piece it together with the original, but since we first covered this story so recently, and there has been a significant break in the case, with new development seemingly daily, we decided to expand upon the first two episodes.

In order to share as much information as we've been able to gather, if you've not listened to the first two parts of this story, pause here and go back and listen to episodes 336 and 337, before you come back to this one.

After we aired the first two episodes, many people questioned why we thought Teresa and Bethany may be alive.

There were a handful of reasons we uncovered through our research and interviews, including the letter penned by Teresa, and the information from Teresa's sister Regina, who indicated that their mother took them to get on a bus, knowing that they were going underground, and would have no contact or know their location after that time.

When Teresa's daughter, Catherine, contacted us last year, she had not yet learned of a letter authored by her mother that implicated her father in heinous sex crimes against her sister, Bethany.

In fact, it was only a few days after we spoke with Catherine that she read this letter for the first time.

We shared the letter with you in the initial episodes, but would like to share it with you again, since it's a compelling part of what took place after those episodes aired.
