So this is scary, and the Lake and Riley Act is not a law that targets criminal illegal immigrants,

as many know-nothing political commenters would have you believe if they're talking about this law at all.

There will be people who are here legally, who can be caged indefinitely, and then may be deported,

based on accusations of crimes they may not have committed. And my heart aches for Lake and Riley, a young woman who dreamed of helping people.

She wanted to be a nurse. But now whose name will forever be attached to suffering, both now and for years to come.

I am so damn tired of being lied to.

I don't think I can deny it anymore.

You can't stick to your story if you think it flies.

But I'm not going to buy it anymore.

And in today's episode, we're going to be talking about the Laken Riley Act.

The Lake and Riley Act is the first new law of the 119th Congress, and after seven weeks of this

new Congress and a full month of the new Trump administration,

despite how chaotic and fast the news feels, in Congress, the Lake and Riley Act remains the only new

law of the 119th Congress. Everything else that's been going on has been done via executive order,

or has, quite frankly,

been done illegally. And so the Lake and Riley Act is so far the only thing that's been set in

stone by Congress. And so today I'm going to tell you what the new law does and then we'll

examine who's likely to be hurt by it and who is likely to benefit. Because this new law is going to make some people money

and I don't think that is getting highlighted nearly enough. But before we get into it, I would like
