Spartans, are you afraid to challenge other people?

Spartans, welcome back to another episode of the Spartan Way Podcast.

I'm your host, Zach Evernesh, and in today today's episode I want to talk to you about some

fire that I got after watching a video of an interview there was a young guy in his

early 20s applying for a sales position at this big big real estate company.

The real estate company did some background checking on the kid and they saw that he had actually purchased a product from their company on sales

and in the middle of the payment plan this kid bailed out so now this kid's applying for a job and while he's applying for the job the owner of the company says,

listen man, here's what you did. You applied for this job yet you purchased a product from us.

Then you caused us to lose money because we had to get debt collectors to chase you down.

You quit and bailed out on something and here you are, you want me to give you a job.

And they were really getting into it with this young kid pushing him and

what was awesome was the kid did not back down.

He took ownership over the mistake that he made.

He took ownership over how he's going to change what he has changed and why he's going to be somebody reliable and in that moment I realized, the owner of that company said everything that was in his heart and on his mind. I mean, they ripped into this kid.

And the kid did not back down. Most people probably would have broken down.

But pushing people, you gotta realize that when we push ourselves

or if you're a coach or somebody in an an administrative position when we push others

oftentimes it's because they need it and that's what's going to make them better

and this is a very similar scenario to how things work at my gym when I'm training an athlete.

Oftentimes that first four to six weeks is a big struggle for them.

They're saying I can't, I can't do it, I'm too tired to make my breakfast in the morning, I won't, I can't.

And it's like pushing them in that inch by inch brick by brick theme that I talk about so often, they start to change, they start to transform
