Today's tip is to choose your alarm sound. There are plenty of

irritating sounds in the world that you can't control. But for those you can, best to choose

something more pleasant. A lot of people who are intentional about their time use timers to tell them when to

wrap up an activity. A timer can be helpful for letting you know, for instance, that you have

spent your allotted 30 minutes for editing a document. And now you need to finalize it and submit

it.

A timer can let you know that you have done a 25-minute Pomodoro-style sprint of work,

and you are free to get a cup of coffee if you need one.

And even if you are not 10 years old, it may be helpful to use a timer to monitor your screen time,

so you don't spend more time scrolling than you intended.
