the long-awaited net zero strategy and review, and media tension is building ahead of the big summit

in Glasgow. With the government's slogan of coal, cars, cash and trees, there's been plenty of focus on electric vehicles, finance and power generation.

But precious little attention has been paid to the materials and resources used to build the cars, batteries and wind turbines that we so clearly need.

I'm the chief executive of the Institute of Materials and Mining as my day job,

but I also chair the Circular Economy Task Force.

Prior to working for IM3, I also ran CRWM, the Resource and Waste Managers Professional Network.

Before that, I spent 20-odd years in the UK government in a variety of different roles,

my last one of which was dealing with everything environmental that's not green or cuddly for DEFRA. Quite a task,
