You have this record, The Reaper, and Valyric. I'm just a son with no father.

You talked about your father being an alcoholic. Are you trying to make me cry on this show,

Talib Kuala Lee? No, you know, but you know, we're definitely trying to create a safe space

for you to tell your story. You have a very complicated relationship with your father.

And I've heard you talk about how it informs who you are today.

And I wanted to give you a chance to share some of that, your father being a Vietnam vet.

And the ups and downs and the sort of roller coaster relationship you have with your father.

Well, unfortunately, we don't have a relationship today.

So when I was 15 because of the crime my mom kept having to get me out of jail.

She was like, that's it. I'm sending a father in the suburbs. I live in the city.

So I'm like, I'm not moving to the fucking boondocks with the hicks and die. You know,

you're from the city. That's what you think back then. So I ended up having to go live with him

in a suburb of Boston. And there's one thing, a line he would say to me all the time that

he used to upset me. By the way, when I went to go live with him was the greatest thing because

my father's a very like man's man. Right. So I was like, I was just, he didn't tell me how to be a man,

but I would just watch him. And I started. So that's just alone prior to him was the guy I looked at

as how to be a man. Right. So when I watched like him and Bruce Willis and those kind of guys on TV,
