Hey everybody. This is Rob Leifeld visiting with you one more time. This is Rob Observations. Thank you for

joining me for another episode of Robeservations. We are at episode six. If you can even believe that,

this is the sixth installment. I cannot thank you guys enough for joining

me on this journey. This is my journey of collecting comics, consuming comics, experiencing

comics, eventually a 34 year career in comic books. This has just been the most fun expressing

this through you guys on these podcasts.

We have covered a ton of ground starting back in 75 when I started to become as obsessed as I would become with comic books.

And today, because we have moved through rivalries.

We've moved through, you know, some of these great and amazing runs that have determined how characters like Daredebel and the X-Men have been, and Batman have been determined

and depicted now in the modern age, the modern era, you know, the squadron supreme, the squadron sinister,

these these DC echoes, and also how the new Titans, when we covered the careers of both

John Byrne and George Perez, who had the greatest rivalry in comics of this age, how new Titans

kind of was an echo of everything that was going on in the uncanny X-Men,

and it met with tremendous success.

So these companies that were at the forefront of the time,

definitely Marvel and DC were the guys who were just pushing the envelope

and getting all the sales and all the attention of the kids that were my age.

But there was also a period that we're going to discuss today

where it was in the immediate success, following the immediate success of Star Wars,

the boom of licensed comic books that would find their way into Marvel Comics hands that would just

be this avalanche of titles and it's at one point I believe it's it's almost 30% of

Marvel's line across this this kind of late 70s early 80s that, that their books were, these amazing licensed comics.
