Forgotten was left collecting cobwebs in the fallow dark.

Poetry is really good at making sense of things.

It's this sort of magic spell that casts understanding and meaning.

But look at what's locked inside,

keepsakes from seasons past.

It's a great way of taking a big thing and making it small and relatable.

I think that's why poetry is really good for this kind of thing,

where you're trying to get people on board and trying to convey a complex message.

That poet Iona Lee, Iona Lee,

Iona's been involved in a project called We Feed the UK, run by the Gaia Foundation.

Her poem, The Seedkist, is one of ten poems written about regenerative farming by a group called Hot Poets.

Each poet was matched with a farmer and a photographer from across the UK with the aim of telling

positive stories around nature-friendly farming. Iona was given Lauriston Agroecology Farm near Edinburgh

as her focus and she was also working with photographer Sophie Gerard. You may have already heard our podcast about Lauriston Farm.
