Michigan Water Polo is set to open up the home portion of their schedule this coming weekend.

The number 16 Wolverines are led by Cassie Churnside, their head coach,

Well, as promised, I've got the head coach of the women's water polo team, Cassie Churnside.

Joining me today on Conquering Heroes and Cassie, I know you guys are opening up the home portion of your schedule.

But lead us up to now, what's it like, and how difficult is it been being on the road for so many weeks?

Honestly, this has been a rough season. It's had some highs, it's had some loads,

but we kind of attacked the season a little differently where we didn't play as many games at

the beginning, and we're kind of backloading our games. So we honestly just have needed just more

practice. And this past weekend, we were able to beat our conference rivals Harvard.

So that was really, really exciting.

And so moving into this weekend, we're playing some other conference foes.

And then we'll have an off weekend and back to conference again.

So conference is really where our main focus has been this season. I know you've been here for three years, but you spent eight at Harvard. What's it like to

come away with a win against the former team of yours? Honestly, it's tough. It never feels good to beat

them if you want to know the truth because you spent so much time there building up those programs.

But it also feels really, it doesn't mean that I'm not proud of the way we play, the way that we came out, and the fact that we came away with the win.

So that's been, it's tough seeing them all in the pool deck.
