The subject of my investigation is the murder for hire of law professor Dan Markell.

It's a case about religion, marriage, divorce, custody, and a deadly murder

plot that left two boys without a dad. Here's the story.

Law professor and devoted father of two, Dan Markell, was involved in a bitter custody battle with

his ex-wife Wendy Adelson. Wendy wanted to move with the kids from Tallahassee

Florida to South Florida to be closer to her mother Donna, her father Harvey, and her

brother Charlie. And after Dan Markell was gunned down in his driveway in 2014, that's exactly what she did.

Investigators were able to track down the gunmen, Latin King gang member Luis Rivera

and his friend Sigfredo Garcia.

But why did these men killed Dan Markell?

Investigators would come to find

a connection. Sigfrido Garcia's

McBanowa, had once

dated Wendy Adelson's
