This year's election wasn't only about the presidency.

Here are five ways voters made history happen all over the country.

In Missouri, Corey Bush, a nurse, pastor, and Black Lives Matter activist, was elected the state's first black congresswoman.

Yes.

In North Carolina, 25-year-old Republican Madison Cawthorn became the youngest person elected

to Congress since 1965.

Oh, yeah.

In New York, Mander Jones and Richie Torres became the first openly gay black men elected to Congress.

In Delaware, Sarah McBride was elected the first openly transgender state senator.

And in New Mexico, Deb Holland, Yvette Harrell, and Teresa Leisure Fernandez won all three of the

state's congressional districts making it the first state in history to elect all women of color

to the U.S. House of Representatives.
