Thank you. True Crime Podcast. On November 30th, 2021, then 15-year-old Ethan Crumbly opened fire at Oxford

High School, killing four students in the attack

and injuring many others. Two years later, he was sentenced to life in prison without the

possibility of parole. On Tuesday, April 9th, Ethan's parents, James and Jennifer Crumbly, were each

sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison, convicted on four counts of involuntary manslaughter

by two separate juries in connection to their son's school shooting. The landmark convictions

mark the first time in U.S. history that the parents of a school shooter have been held

criminally liable for their child's crime.

Joining me once again with a look at this historic case is WJR Detroit Senior News Analyst,

crime. Tell us a little bit more about it. Well, as you said, this is the first time this has ever

happened. So much new ground was covered here. James and Jennifer Cromley were accused of

providing their child with a weapon, with a gun, that they had evidence showing through social media that this gun was purchased for this child, Ethan Crumley, their son.

And it was given to him as a present, a Christmas present.
