0:30.0	Hey there, Sprouts. Today is Thursday, March 6th, 20205. This week we have been talking about Lent, which started yesterday on Ash Wednesday. Now, during Lent, we are called to do three things
0:37.4	in particular. We are called to
0:39.9	fast, which we already spoke about, but we are also called to give alms and to pray. So today,
0:47.3	we are going to talk about giving alms, which is something we all do, even if you're a child
0:53.7	and don't have a lot of money,
0:55.3	but it still is an important focus of Lent. Before we dive into that, however, please join me with
1:02.3	our March prayer, the Fatima Prayer. In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, amen.
1:12.8	Oh, my Jesus, forgive us our sins.
1:15.9	Save us from the fires of hell.
1:18.6	Lead all souls to heaven, especially those who are in most need of your mercy.
1:24.8	Amen.
1:25.7	In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen.
1:32.1	So giving alms.
1:34.3	Well, giving alms means simply giving your time, money, or service to those who are in need. As Christians, this is something that we are called to do
1:47.5	all the time, not just during Lent. And an important way to think through how we give alms is to
1:55.9	review the corporal works of mercy. Now the Corporal Works of Mercy pull us into Scripture.
2:03.4	In fact, they come from the 25th chapter in Matthew's Gospel.
2:10.1	Now, in this story, Jesus is telling about how he is the king of the universe
2:15.2	will have all the people of the world gathered before him
