Hey everybody is David Plough. Welcome to Campaign HQ. Really looking forward to talking to my old friend and

colleague Dan Feifer. Dan's got a new book out called Untrumping America,

a plan to make America Democracy again. It's really a great read. A lot of good

thoughts about the upcoming election, but a lot of time spent talking about what we

need to do on a more medium-term basis, some really provocative ideas around structural reform and the

fact that progressives really need to be a little bit more aggressive about using the power

that we hope to accumulate if we win back the presidency

and the Senate.

So Dan has written, I think, a really important book.

I think all of you will learn something from it, may trigger ideas of your own and also clearly makes the

point that while we need our elected officials and leaders to do more to swing for

the fences a little bit more aggressively.

Ultimately that won't happen if we don't all hold them accountable and provide them motivation

and cover for some of the tough things they need to do.

So this book I think is a critical read for anybody,

not just who's concerned about the next election,

but who's concerned about the state of our democracy.

And if there's anything we can do about it. And I think Dan gives us optimism

that there's a lot we can do if we have the courage and gumption to try. So I'm

really excited to talk to my old friend Dan Feifer.
