Hey, welcome. I'm so glad you're listening in today. I hope that you and I can talk through a very

well-known story, the story of David and Goliath from 1st Samuel chapter 17, and come away with an interesting

combination of takeaways, part of which are things that you know really, really well,

and we'll just talk about ways of applying them, and a couple of things may be a new angle

or information for you from this story, and those may have that fresh potential to have a deep impact in your

life and even the way you live out this week. So it's sort of a setup for that journey. Let me take

a few minutes and tell you how we got to this point where I'm sharing with you a story that you

and I have known for maybe our entire lives. It started for me a couple of weeks ago. The family

and I left town for a few days and we were

staying in this cabin and up on the mantle were three matching books by an author named Malcolm Gladwell.

I had no idea who he was. I still know very little, but the book in the middle was titled

David and Goliath and that piqued my interest. We were only going to be there

a couple of days. I didn't grab the book until day two. I'm not really into stealing stuff, so I knew

there was no way I was going to be able to complete the thing. But to be honest with you, and this is a

little bit of a tell on a lot of different episodes that you have heard, I'll read the first 50 pages of practically any book. You can usually get the gist of what

they're driving at, and then if it's super interesting or useful, then you read the rest of it. So in

this case, I could tell by a quick Google search and by looking at the titles of the other two
